Series: The LORD GOD is His Name.

A Study through the book of Amos

The Book of Amos is a prophetic book in the Old Testament, attributed to the prophet Amos, who was a shepherd and farmer from Tekoa in Judah. It focuses on God's judgment against Israel and other nations due to their injustice, idolatry, empty worship and spiritual complacency. Written during a time of relative prosperity under King Jeroboam II (around 760–750 BC), Amos delivers a stern warning to turn back to God before impending disaster — a message that we can find rich application to for our lives and times.
