Pastor Jason went to Calvary Chapel Bible College in Murrieta, CA, in 2002 and moved back to Albuquerque, NM in 2004 (where he had grown up.) After serving and growing at Calvary Albuquerque for a few years, he then moved from Albuquerque -to- San Mateo, CA with his high school sweetheart and wife, Shannon. He had come to visit a friend that had moved to San Mateo and realized that there weren't a lot of solid and balanced churches out here, so God called him to move. He served as Youth Pastor at Calvary San Mateo for 12 years before being called to become the Lead Pastor. You might think that's a long time to be a youth pastor and you'd be right - it is! - but it was an amazing time. Though Jason still has a heart to see young people walk with Jesus during the best years of their life, he knows that God has called him to lead this Church and see an entire community - all ages - serve the Lord, for such a time as this. While serving in leadership at Calvary he has always been bi-vocational; working in the construction industry and then transitioning to the technology industry of Silicon Valley / Bay Area which has given him inspiring insight into the culture of this area and how God wants to meet people where they're at. He is passionate about building a Kingdom culture and enjoys surfing, rock climbing, hiking, cold brew, one-wheeling, designing stuff, sitting under the waterfalls in Yosemite and daily cold plunges. He attributes everything to the providence of God, especially for bringing Shannon into his life to be his bride! Together they have 3 boys (#FreiBoyz), 1 boxer dog, and live in San Mateo, CA.
