Should the USA buy Greenland? Was the capture of Maduro a good thing? Is China upset about that? Will they act? These are current event geo-political and economic questions that are relevant to us and in this study we see the unfolding of Joseph's genius economic plan that saves the world from starvation through the famine and even provides an incubation and blessing to the now-beginning nation of Israel — which would have been supremely relevant to the people at this time. The promises to Abraham that his descendants will be a "blessing to the whole world" (Genesis 12 & 22) is already starting to happen through Joseph's life and will find it's culmination in the life of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, and the Church that He establishes in the world.

We also get a glimpse of the strong faith that Jacob / Israel is ending with in tethering his life and his hope not to Egypt, but to the promised land in Canaan.
